Spintz Cake

I only made the cake (no frosting), but it was one of the most moist and best-flavored cakes I've ever had. Covering it with a towel while cooling really worked!

Peanut Butter Bars I

These were fabulous. I only used 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter, as another reviewer recommended, and replaced the rest with more peanut butter. I suggest food processing the cracker crumbs for the best texture.

Grilled Eggplant, Tomato and Goat Cheese

I tried the oven version of this recipe, and it was not successful. The eggplant ended up not fulled cooked, the dressing didn't seem sufficient, and the tomatoes fell apart. I just ate the cheese!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

This was just fabulous! I used chicken stock left over from another meal and cooked the chicken, then the vegetables in that; the broth was lovely and flavorful, and the dumplings were dense without being heavy. I will definitely use it again.

Easy Vodka Sauce

I followed some of the other reviewers' advice and added Italian spices, which kicked up the flavor; I also cut down on the butter. You only need enough to keep the onions from burning, since you're putting in cream later. It turned out to be a good, basic sauce.

Banana Banana Bread

Instead of a loaf, I made this into muffins (with added chocolate chips!). The full recipe filled 16 muffin cups, and they were the moistest, most satisfying muffins I've had in a long time. A deserved 5 stars.

Beef and Irish Stout Stew

This is a good stew base - the consistency of the gravy was perfect - but it lacked flavor. I would recommend adding your preferred blend of spices, as well as a little sugar to balance it out.
