I'm a Ph.D. student living with my husband and two guinea pigs in lovely Ottawa. I've been cooking ever since I was a little kid and made "cornflake chicken" with my Dad's help. Breads, cookies, squares and cakes. As far as "real" food goes, I love roasts and casseroles. Comfort food is king. I have actually won an award for my baking! Okay, so it was just me against my two coworkers in a workplace bake-off. But I won in all three categories -- cookie, bar, and "other" -- in a blind taste-test. Not bad! Go me! Oh dear, I just can't seem to get the hang of pork.
