ONe of the best recipes I've ever made. My husband actually said, "it was good." He's super picky. I will keep this one in my arsenal!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Put this on top of "too much chocolate cake" from this site. super easy to make. Going to add butterscotch next time! Used a trick with a pot filled with water and a Pyrex bowl floated inside since I didn't have a double boiler. Worked perfect and I didn't need to go out an buy another gadget.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Good and SUPER easy with a stand mixer! I made it topped with the satiny chocolate glaze as suggested by another reviewer. Would make it again and would be good to bring to a party or potluck. I am going to try cupcakes next time. Used Duncan Hines mix.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

UPDATE: 1/27/09 Made this again, this time with TVP (tex veg protein) def more of a meaty texture. only used one pepper and more onion. Added chipotle chilis and some adobo sauce and it made it smoky. I love it both ways I've made it. Making it again for superbowl tomorrow! We both loved this. Used the "jimmy dean sausauge" looking soy protein to make the crumbles. Going to try TVP next. He liked it so much he just asked me to make it again. Delicious. added more chili powder and only one jap. going to look for chipotle chilis to add too.

Used rice vinegar instead of white wine... He said it was ok but not super flavorful. Might not make it again.

Used chicken breasts and cooking time was right on. Lao used olive oil instead of butter. pretty juicy. Would make this again.

I left out the crackers because I realized too late that I didn't have any. Just coconut and cashews. Oh, and I used egg cause I was out of butter too! Fiance said it was good. cooking time was RIGHT ON. would make this again.

Made exactly as recipe indicated. Fiance couldn't taste much. Said it was nice and flaky though. I'd try this one again.

Broccoli Chicken Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Made this for my fiance, found out he doesn't like broccoli and cheese together/ oh well, still said it was good. Made a few changes due to earlier reviews. no green pepper so used 1/2c red pepper and added 1/4c of vidalia onion. Sauteed them first along with the garlic, dill and salt. Steamed the broccoli first. Seemed to be 1-1/2 c too much filling so I had leftovers. Only needed to cook 11mins cause it was getting golden and I knew the insides were already cooked. Will make again adn may even try some other fillings!

Banana Pancakes II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Didn't have any buttermilk so I did 1 tbsp of lemon juice and the rest of the cup of milk and let it sit for a few minutes. then I didn't have any flour so I substituted bisquick for the flour, baking powder and salt. I added cinnamon and vanilla as suggested in other reviews. My fiance says they were light but a little doughy. good enough to make again.

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
I used thin sliced chicken cutlets and cooked it on low and the garlic still burned. If you decide to use fresh herbs, you need to put them in a lot later or else they will burn too. Not bad, but not great either.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Fiance said this smelled a lot better than it tasted. Weird sweet/sour thing going on. I used fresh garlic instead of garlic salt and fresh chopped tomatoes and basil. Not going into the normal rotation.

Made this for my fiancee tonight. Doubled the sauce as indicated and cut the butter in half. Had no fresh basil so I used dried. He says its a drop away from scampi, but just not as good.

Swiss Chard with Garbanzo Beans and Fresh Tomatoes

This was only so so. Definitely needed more chick peas. Even with them, it was bland. If I try to make this again, I might add more spices. It was just boring.

Vegan Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
I followed the recipe closely, and this soup was just bland. It needed more spices and the veggies were still a little crunchy. Next time (if I even tried it again) I would simmer for at LEAST 20 mins, if not more.

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
I didn't make the whole recipe, just the marinade for the meat and my boyfriend said it was just bland. Not much flavor, nothing special. We make fajitas all the time and they usually come out well. He said the worstershire sauce detracted, not added from the overall flavor. I don't thik i would try this recipe again.

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
I read the other reviews and decided to take out the chicken while I sauteed some onions and mushrooms, then added the chicken and simmered on each side for 5 minutes. The breading was STILL soggy and I can't even imagine it if I would have cooked it for 20 mins! It wasn't so bad and my boyfriend said it tasted like the one from the caterer.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
I am definitely NOT a cook and this is the best and easiest recipe I've ever made form this website. I like to use Boars Head maple ham for a slightly sweet flavor. My boyfriend actually ASKED for this one again! 2 suggestions: using colored toothpicks will color the chicken, and the ham makes the chicken pink but that doesn't mean it isn't cooked enough. Don't make the same mistake I did the first time! I would and have made this recipe again and again!
