Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Good idea for veggies! We didn't care much for the red pepper, and I think I'll cut back on the olive oil ... a little too greasy for my tastes. Also, I only used a sprinkling of shredded parmesan. I can't imagine using a whole 1/2 cup of the grated stuff, yuck! Fresh basil is a must. Thanks!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
Mmmmmmm. These were awesome! I let mine marinade for a couple of hours and added cherry tomatoes and zucchini. Our grill decided not to work at the last minute, so I ended up cooking them up on our George Foreman. The result? AWESOMENESS. So simply, but delish! Also our first time using zucchini on kabobs, and let me tell you, I will use it every single time because it tastes soooo good (and I used to hate zucchini!). Yum!

Baked Haddock

I'm not sure why so many people liked this recipe ... all I can say is it's bland. You need a good flavor for fish ... otherwise all you taste is fish. Not gross, but not good either. Sorry.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
A 1/2 tsp of cloves sounded like way too much. Cloves are a strong-tasting herb, and if you like it you should use it sparingly. And I was right. I added a little less, and the clove flavor was still way too pungent for my tastes. If you left out the cloves, it would've been perfect. I always use 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce instead of shortening to cut down on the fat, and it works great with this recipe. Moist, chewy, yummy ... minus the cloves. My husband agreed; next time, cloves will be left in the pantry and out of my cookies!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Yummy! I liked this recipe. Used a leftover whole bird for my soup ... meat turned out tender and delicious. I also used bagged chips. No other changes necessary!

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Great BBQ sauce! No changes needed! I used this on "Slow Cooker Pulled Pork" from the site, and it made for some DELICIOUS pulled pork sandwiches. Yum!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
Mmmmm. Delicious! I poured about 20 ounces over a 3 pound pork sirloin roast and slow cooked it overnight, about 10 hours on low. In the morning, I emptied the root beer out of the crockpot and shredded the pork (it literally fell apart), placed the pork back in the crockpot and added 2 cups of Bourbon Whiskey BBQ sauce from this site and cooked on high for 4 hours. This was AWESOME. My husband loved it! Tender, juicy, and great flavor from the BBQ sauce. Who would've thought root beet could tenderize this meat so well? Looking forward to eating the leftovers tonight!

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
This is a DELICIOUS recipe! The pecans are a hit on the salmon, and the yummy honey-mustard flavor is awesome. My husband thinks it's good, but I think it's spectacular! :) My only change is to turn and coat the salmon in the honey mustard mix, then dip and coat it in the bread mixture. It's a little messy, but this will ensure a good flavoring of the salmon instead of just sprinkling crumbs on top and it either be too dry or plain. I would also recommend NOT using thick salmon steaks ... you can taste the flavors blending better with a thinner fish. Thanks!

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
With all the great reviews, I had high hopes for this recipe. Followed all directions, added a couple cloves of garlic and a kiwi, let marinate for 6 hours then grill. Not impressed. Tasted like salty chicken with some strange flavor I couldn't pinpoint. Hubby wasn't impressed, either. Not horrible, but this won't make it into my recipe book.

Mmmmm. A delicious marinade; even better when used on a well-marbled piece of steak. Didn't taste sweet at all to me ... seemed like the perfect blend of flavors. Yum!

I added 50% more topping, and used slightly underripe peaches that were on sale. Still turned out AWESOME! Just add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you've got a delicious dessert. Thanks!

Too much mayo. Flavor not impressive ... and not worth the intake of calories! Husband thought it was ok, which is why I gave it one star. Took this to a potluck and ended up taking most of it home. Will not make again ...

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
Mmmmm ... good recipe! I must say, though, I didn't stick exactly to it, because an entire 5 oz. bottle of hot sauce sounded INSANE. I sprinkled the meat with just a little bit of the hot sauce, and with all the other ingredients, the meat still turned out spicy (however, not too spicy, especially in tacos with cheese and sour cream and so on). With that change, the meat turned out perfect. I cooked it for 8 hours on low, pulled it out and browned it on the stovetop for tacos. Can I say DELICIOUS??! Thanks so much!!!

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
Good tasting cake! The filling was great, and although I don't think there was enough, the icing had a great flavor, too. The cake was a little dense ... it was hard to slice the two sections into halves. They ended up being too thin and crumbling in some sections. Doesn't change the flavor, though ... yummy! I also did the crumb frosted the cake, chilled it, then added remaining frosting to give it the perfect look. Great cake! Thanks!

Good recipe! I added some cumin to give it more of a mexican taste. I think might taste better using corn tortillas and reduced sodium soups ... it came out a little too salty for my tastes.

Delicious! Not too sweet, either. I used 2% milk and it worked just fine. I added a little extra whip to the top of my pudding; would be great either way! Thanks for the recipe!
