About this Cook
I'm in my 20's and newly married. I'm fitness trainer and also involved in youth ministry. Having my own kitchen has been absolutely wonderful! I aim to make all my meals about 40 percent protien, 50 percent carbohydrates and 10 percent fat. All recipies has been wonderful in making this reletively easy and interesting- I love that the nutrition info is included on all the recipies!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking mexican foods as well as asian. Spices are very fun to work with! Fish and chicken are fairly easy for me, learning more about cooking steak and red meats. My mother is wonderful in the kitchen and is the woman who introduced me to Allrecipies.com. Both her and I find cooking to be an escape from life and a creative release. It's so wonderful to be able to create something that is appriciated and enjoyed!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father adores apple pie. We make it with home made whole wheat crust and no sugar...it's a fabulous treat and easy to make- especially when you get everyone peeling and coring at the same time! I have many fun memories with the family sitting peeling and getting sticky!
My cooking triumphs
I made homemade bread! Without a breadmaker- I made a loaf of whole wheat bread that came out really good! It was then- when the excitement of my success lasted all day that I realized that yes, I truly am a nerd.
My cooking tragedies
Um, never try to fry or satee bananas.

Goat Cheese Salmon
Sooo good! I only had regular goat cheese, so I sprinkled some dry herbs over the felets- garlic salt, and some Italian herbs, then basted the salmon and goat cheese with the dijon mustard and mayo. My husband and I thourghly enjoyed it- and I LOVED how easy it was and that the ingredients were easy to come by! Thanks, I will definitely be using this one again!!!
