I have been cooking partly out of necessity as well as for enjoyment for almost 30 years. My 4 children have grown up on "home-made" baked goods and were always more impressed with their friends Oreos! Now that they are older they appreciate the time and effort that are involved. I enjoy making deserts most. Although the variety and quality of the recipes on this site, make new attempts more fun- and successful! I have always enjoyed making and decorating sugar cookies with my children at Christmastime. As a child, making candy with my family was a Christmas tradition that we all looked forward to, especially my father. I make a great lasagna and also, "wicked good" Whoopie Pies! The first year I was married, I made Thanksgiving Dinner for my family. I cooked my stuffed turkey, breast side down. I tried to turn it over but the breast meat had stuck to the pan.
