Easy Grilled Lemon Chicken

I'm a firm believer in trying a recipe "as is" in order to rate it fairly. That being said; this is about a 4 1/2 star in my book. Now, being that I am an experimenter, here's how I made it into a 5 star (for me, anyways) the second time around: used fresh ginger (about a 2 inch piece, grated), added 3 cloves of garlic (minced or pressed), added two chopped green onions, added 1Tbsp. of brown sugar, and 2 tsp. red pepper flakes. Wow!!! Talk about some great Asian flair! DH loved this recipe! Wonderful with any cut of chicken, used leg quarters the second time around. Thanks, MelindaG for a keeper!

Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad

Great salad! Our family doesn't like cooked broccoli, but we love it raw - so this was perfect for us! I did add the sliced green onions as another reviewer suggested. I LOVE the dressing, but have to admit that there was a lot of it! Absolutely will be making again!

No Fail Pound Cake

Very tasty! I added 1 1/2 cups of blueberries (rolled in flour) to mine. Topped it with a glaze of lemon juice and powdered sugar. Family gobbled it up!

Yum! Not big on fish (other than fried catfish) but this was great! Made recipe exactly as written. Will make again, nice enough for company & so quick!

Phyllo Turnovers with Shrimp and Ricotta Filling

Not one other person has mentioned the cook time being too high - but I cooked these at the stated 425 for less than ten min. & they were burnt and burst open!! By the time I smelled them from the patio, it was too late!!! All that hard work for nothing. I have an oven thermometer in at all times, so temp SHOULD be accurate. To be fair - I gave recipe 3 stars, though I never even go to taste one!!

Roquefort Pear Salad

I first made this salad for Christmas Dinner 2007. It's wonderful! All the flavors go great together! I've used this recipe at pot luck several times since. I never change a thing - it's so simple & easy as is!

Calico Beans

Don't be put off by the large amount of brown sugar - it MAKES this recipe! I've made a very close variation of this recipe for years- the only difference is that I use prepared yellow mustard (same measurement as ketsup) instead of dried. To this day, this is the ONLY bean recipe my 14 year old will eat!

Hooley's Hot Dog Relish
