Hi! My name is Ryanne. Im in my mid 20's. I live on Dover Air Force Base in Dover, DE. Im originally from Queens, NY. Im a former career Mom. I decided a few months ago to become a stay at home Mom so I can spend more time with my 3 yr old son. So far Im really enjoying it. Its very rewarding for me and I now have time to cook! No more McDonald's 2x's a week!
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have a favorite type of food to cook. I like to cook all types of foods. Since joining Allrecipes I've really expanded my horizons and have made foods that I never thought I'd make. Surprisingly everything I have made so far has been delicious!
Im a South Beacher and have found so many South Beach friendly recipes with lots of flavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately we dont have a family cooking tradition. I know bad us!!!! Growing up we always had spaghetti and meatballs with semolina bread on Sundays. Being from a half Italian family from Queens, spaghetti sundays are a must. I havent carried on that tradition since my husband and I dont eat those types of foods anymore. I will always remember that as a favorite family tradition though!
Every once in a blue moon I'll make it a spaghetti and meatball Sunday but thats very rare.
My cooking triumphs
Making german chocolate frosting!! That came out faaaabulous!!!! That was DEFINITELY a WORTH IT cheat day!
I experimented and ended up making my green beans taste just like the green beans from our favorite chinese restaurant that we dont get to eat at much. Of course I did it in a healthy way and you couldn't even tell!
My cooking tragedies
I cannot get my beef briscuit to tastes like my MIL's. No matter what I do it is soooo dry!! I do NOT even attempt to cook briscuit anymore. :(
Ive always been a bad cookie baker. Ive only made one good batch of cookies in my life. I guess that's a good thing. Keeps me away from em!! I do enjoy the No-bake cookie recipes.
