Wine Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Great recipe, here were my changes, no wine, used chicken broth, sauteed 4 cloves fresh minced garlic with fresh crimini mushrooms in 2 tbsp butter, seared chicken breasts, cut into big slices, layered into baking dish- chicken, mushrooms, sauce, baked for 35 minutes at 350, added parm and sliced almonds, 10 more minutes, perfectly cooked! Sauce does get a little chunky, just whisk sauce with couple tbsp chicken broth and it's good to go! Served over linquine w/ garlic baquettes.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
This is pretty good, nice and healthy, changed a few things, served on Onion buns, used whole egg, added red pepper flakes, cheese, sauteed some thinly sliced onions for the top and was yummy! Grilled on stove in grill pan w/ PAM olive oil spray, 8 mins per side, little thick. Next time I might change it a little, maybe some green chilis for some kick. Overall, good!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
Made tiny changes, but mostly stuck with it! Husband devoured it and asked if I could make more! He wants it for dinner again tonight. :) He doesn't like mustard so I was a little worried but apparently for no reason. I left out the corn syrup, after removing the bacon from the pan, dumped half the grease out and sauteed 2 minced garlic cloves with half yellow onion (thinly sliced) w thinly sliced fresh mushrooms till just cooked, removed, used same pan to fry chicken on both sides, 4 mins each, little salt and pepper on the chicken w/ dash of cayenne, layered in baking dish, (chicken, sauce, onions & mushrooms, bacon) baked for 15 minutes @ 350, added cheese, baked another 10 and done! Soooo yummy.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
I LOVE this chili. It's healthy and filling and so good. Here is how I change it to make it our own....4 cloves minced garlic instead of 3, sweet onion, diced green green chilis, little extra cumin and be careful not to overdue the cinnamon, i only use 1 can of beans, and after i've added 2 cans chicken broth, I add about cup and half of instant white rice, cover and simmer for 10 mins. PHENOMENAL. We eat it with little sour cream, mexi blend shredded cheese and my husband scoops it up with tortilla chips. I put about 1 cup mexi blend cheese in after the rice is done and mix it up and serve! I've toyed with the idea of pureeing the 2 other cans of beans, leaving the rice out and baking it with a cheese layer and then serving it as a dip, I'll re-review once I've tried it. Thank you for this recipe, it's the best!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Left out the vinegar as I didn't have any on hand, but it still turned out great. Used about a cup of coarsely chopped cashews, unsalted. Easy yummy recipe I'll make here and there, thanks!

Cheddar-Thyme Flaky Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I have made this recipe three times now, each time, changing it up, first I added garlic powder and onion powder w/ Mexican blend cheese which came out like Red Lobsters FINALLY, I have been trying to perfect that biscuit for YEARS!, next I made them without all spices or cheese to use w/ sausage gravy for bfast and SO good. Last night I used garlic powder and shredded mozz and every time, they are phenomenal! I will use this as a base recipe for the rest of my life, THANK YOU!

We will never order delivery again! This pizza crust is phenomenal. I did everything EXACT except I made the crust into 2 rectangle shapes on one big baking sheet and came out with 2 pan pizzas, perfect. My husband is a pizza fanatic and he is so excited that I have this great recipe now, thanks Jay!

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
These are so yummy! Used rotisserie chicken, garlic salsa instead of picante, shredded mexican cheese blend, but made them just as the recipe says, and so good! Would five stars if I didn't change things slightly. Quick too! Serve with homemade guacamole and I've always got a hit in my house :)

Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Great base garlic pasta recipe. I add more garlic back into the butter when I simmer it, and I do not use the parmesan as I usually use this as a base for another recipe, in my photo for example, artichoke chicken is crumbled on top as its so moist. Love this recipe though, add or omit garlic as you please! Wonderful!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This is great! I cooked my chicken with some fresh pressed garlic, salt, pepper & onion powder, added a cup of green peas while cooking the onions, did everything else exact to the recipe and we both thought it was yummy! Will make again, make sure the rice is cold! I put it in the freezer in a glass bowl and fluff it around every couple minutes till it's all thoroughly cold, works great.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I had to use a mixture of big and small penne pasta in this, which worked just fine, I split the sour cream with cream cheese, used 3/4lb ground beef, 3/4lb mild italian sausage, added chopped garlic to the meat with the onions and it was FANTASTIC!!!! I will make it exactly like that all the time, whole family gobbled it up. Defenitely used more than 2 tablespoons of parm, that is for sure!

Roasted Chicken with Risotto and Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This was very good, a nice change but I was not as blown away as I wish. Defenitely reduce the balsamic vinegar to about 1/8 cup, and make sure to cook the onions on low for awhile to get the carmalizing. Left out fresh thyme, sprinkled some romano on top, was very good. Roasted chicken is always a time saver and so moist, liked it, may make it again.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This is a very good recipe for lasagna, I would give it a 4.5 as it got great reviews from the family, but I was not as impressed as I thought i would be. In all fairness i did use cottage cheese instead of ricotta, but I also simmered the sauce for over 3 hours and that was amazing, but a little sweet. Over all, it was a fabulous lasagna.

Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
This tarter sauce is awesome, to be fair though I forgot the onion, so I threw some onion powder in it at the last minute. Also, used about a cup and half of mayo, three tablespoons lemon juice, three tablespoons of sweet pickle relish, pinch of sea salt, pinch of black pepper, yummmy!!!!!!!! Hubby doesn't even really like tarter and he loves this. :)

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
These are great! Great base recipe for fluffy wonderful biscuits, I handled them too much, so they didn't get huge, but still came out wonderfully! Next time I'll let the dough sit in the fridge for an hour or so, barely handle it, and cut them a little thicker, but I'll use this recipe all the time.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is so delicious and healthy too! Chicken was frozen when I put it in at 10am, used Bill Echols taco seasoning, made extra, so good! to keep on hand. After 5 hours on low, shredded the chicken it was amazingly tender, added some sea salt, cooked for another 2 hours, served with sr cream and mexican blend shredded cheese, husband devoured it, and it's great leftover :) I'd give it 4.9 stars if I could! Also, used chicken stock in place of beer.

Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

These are so good! Made them on Christmas day with a couple other appetizers, these were gone so fast!!! Have had multiple family members ask for the recipe already! Double it and they were gone within ten minutes! Use a sweet chili sauce, just added a couple tblsps of ketchup to balance the flavor, RAVE REVIEWS. Also tossed water chestnuts lightly in a couple shakes of salt, onion and garlic powder before wrapping in bacon, cut bacon in thirds, perfect length. Will make again for sure :)

Meat Loaf Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
So yummy! Made a homemade pie crust from this site first, baked it for about fifteen minutes, then layered meat/onion mixture, then corn (sticks to mashers better) then mashers, then cheddar. I used Resers already made mashed potatoes ( keep them on hand for quick dinners, they are SO good ) will defenitely make this over and over. So delicious. We ate it two days in a row!
