About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Oh, gosh. I love cooking vegetarian meals, and attempting to create my own recipes. I adore baking; I'm currently going through a bread-making phase. Next obsession: probably cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Anytime I get to cook with my mom, I'm happy. I don't think we really have any traditions, which is a little bit sad. We'll have to start a few.
My cooking triumphs
The banana cake I made for my mom's birthday. And bread. I'm so happy that I can bake bread. It just fascinates me.
My cooking tragedies
There was this one chocolate cake recipe -- huge disaster. It was kinda scary. Both times I attempted it, I failed miserably. Yikes. Bad memories.

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread
This bread was pretty bland. I added a teaspoon of cinnamon, but it actually needed far more than that. I will definitely make this again, because I loved the texture. Next time I'll add a lot more cinnamon, and most likely some dried fruit and nuts. I'll also probably stop trying to make loaves and make oatmeal bars instead.

Classic Bran Muffins
These muffins were so great! I used 1/3 cup Splenda and 1/3 cup brown sugar, and I substituted applesauce for the oil. I used dried cranberries instead of raisins, and added a few shakes of cinnamon. This recipe is absolutely wonderful; I'll be making these again soon.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
Wow. The other reviews were absolutely true. These are way better than store-bought. I substituted an Anaheim pepper in place of the green bell pepper, and I added some chopped mushrooms. They were wonderful! Next time though, I think I'll add a bit more egg, since the burgers were sorta falling apart on me. Thank you for this yummy recipe..I'll definitely be making these again.
