Homemade Fresh Cheese
About this Cook
My family and I are missionaries in South Korea. We moved here in Jan. 2006. It exciting to learn their way of cooking. I'm having fun teaching the Koreans Western cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and try new recipes. My family doesn't always like it when I try new recipes! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Runzas
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 10 or 11 years old I was making a cake for our church potluck. I wanted to do it all by myself. Well, I mistook 1 t for 1 c of baking soda. I tried to remove some of it but it did not turn out goo at all!

Peanut Butter Bars I
Living in Korea we can't get Reese's very easy. These were WONDERFUL!!! I didn't have chocolate chips but had white chocolate chips...mmmmmm sooooo good! Thanks for helping us get our Reese's fix! :) I ended up using 1 1/2 bags of chips and used mini muffin papers. Put a little of the white chocolate on the bottom a flattened ball next then more white chocolate to make it more like an actually Reese. I had a lot of peanut butter mixture left over so then I put it in a 8x8 pan and melted a couple Hershey candy bars for the top (added peanut butter to chocolate like recipe says). I liked the white chocolate better. The actually bars were a little too sweet much more peanut butter mixture than the "Reese" style. Thank you so much!!

Homemade Fresh Cheese
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! I live in Korea and am not able to get cottage cheese here. This was sooo easy and yummy. I plan to use it in lasagna tomorrow. I do not have a thermometer so I watched for it to just start to boil. Stirred just once during boiling time (which I did on the lowest temp of a gas range). When it started to boil I shut it off and added the vinegar let it sit for 10 min., stirred again and saw the yellow whey. Used two knee highs (new), one inside the other drained and squeezed. Added salt to taste after draining and squeezing(not to milk) and presto!! Wonderful!! Thanks!!

Fast Fruit Cocktail Cake
"That stuffs good!" said my husband. I did do a little different. I did 1/2 c brown and 1/2 c white sugar and added 1 t vanilla. I had to cook it for 1 hour. It was very soupy after 30 minutes. Even being cooked for 1 hour it is VERY moist and gooey.
