About this Cook
My name is Samantha and I am from Southern California. All my life I have loved to cook and bake. I have recently decided that I want to go to culinary school and become a chef. I love the satisfaction I give when I make an awesome meal for my family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love mexican food and recently my boyfriends family has been showing me how to make the authentic mexican food like, mole, chili rellanos, devil shrimp( camarones a la diabla), etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I would have to say my favorite family cooking traditions are on Thanksgiving when 3 people in my family make 3 different kinds of turkey and we all get to taste how wonderful each on turned out (and sometimes didn't turn out)
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say the best triumph was after trying serveral attempts to make mole without having a accurate recipe I finally hit it on the nail.
My cooking tragedies
I always love a good challenege trying to cooking anything, so when my boyfriend challenged me to make turkey mole and I failed 2 times it was a weekly challenge until I suceeded. I finally did after his mom made it with me!

Parmesan Roasted Corn on the Cob
This is the best! It is actually a mexican dish and so addicting. I would suggest buying lots of corn on the cob cause you will go back for seconds, maybe thirds.

Curried Coconut Chicken
This recipe is really good. The coconut milk gives it a little sweet taste. I used bone-in chicken vs. boneless and it still turned out really good. I will make this again for sure. Maybe for the family :)
