Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Really good and healthy! My dad would eat this all of the time and I'm glad that I found a recipe that is similar! Great meal to have during the holidays to watch the weight!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Really good pancakes! I would definitely reduce the salt to 3/4 tsp. and a little less butter. Other than that it was fantastic!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Love it! The dressing needs to be doubled and I think that the green onions could be cut in half. Fantastic with grilled shrimp or fish!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Excellent! Mine was definitely a chili (very thick)-- but still delicious. Put low fat sour cream and green onions on top. Served with tortilla chips. Very easy too!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

I really didn't care for this soup (and I'm a soup person). It needed vegetables: carrots, celery, zucchini. Way to salty. I could barely eat this it was sooo salty! The base (tomato sauce and water)-- definitely not the greatest taste.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Awesome! Really easy and delicious. I used Kale instead of Spinach and put that in at the same time as the potatoes. Use hot sausage instead of mild and then you can omit the extra ingredient of red pepper flakes. I also used low-fat milk in the place of cream. Perfect!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
This was fantastic! I followed other reviews and opted for the half & half instead of heavy cream. Used 2 cups of the half & half and added a little bit of cornstarch. Tasted great! I also omitted the parsley. Very warm and delicious! My husband loved it!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
I doubled the sauce and added mushrooms. The gravy was alright. Must've overcooked the meat because it was terrible- very tough and lacking in flavor. Will not make it again. I usually love pork chops... this one just didn't do it for us.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I doubled the marinade.. a must. It ended up marinading for about 7 hours. Really good! I'm not usually a fan of sweet flavored meats (honey, terayaki, etc.) but this was fantastic!

Used fresh mushrooms instead of canned. Everything else I did the same and it was fantastic! Really similar to beef stroganoff(sp?)! Simple. Tasty. So good! Adding this to my monthly menu.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I rated this a 5 out of 5 in the soup category. It was a little high in sodium-- but other than that it was quite healthy and yummy! I used quick cooking barley and popped it in there about 15 minutes before the soup was done. Came out perfectly! I had plenty of broth! It was great with a mini loaf of artisan bread. mmmm.

Didn't add the raisins--don't like them, but other than that the recipe is a great potluck item and I have used it for years! Yum! It's even good with a 1/2 broccoli and 1/2 cauliflower!

It lacked in flavor, maybe because of the rice mix I selected. The creaminess was delightful!

It was really good but lacking in flavor. I think next time I'll add more garlic and soy sauce, maybe a little bit of red pepper flakes. Overall it is a great start and definitely a keeper.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
i didn't love it, but everyone that i made this for rated it a 5. I think fresh spinach would taste better (if you add spinach at all!!) I would also add that noodles at the very end so that they don't soak up all the broth and turn into a stew.
