About this Cook
Mom of seven; grandma of 15 so far! So, I've done a lot of cooking, baking, canning, etc.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti and meatballs from scratch. My boys love the meatballs; can't make enough. Also, well known for my cheesecake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Used to bake all my bread when all the kids were home. No bread machines then.
My cooking triumphs
My pie crust is the best. . .no measuring.
My cooking tragedies
Tried Splenda to make brownies. Will stick to real white sugar.

Classic Bran Muffins
This is a really good bran muffin recipe; however, I did change it to adjust for my taste in bran muffins. I added 2 mashed, ripe bananas (rather small ones) and substituted real butter for the oil. They came out moist and delicious. I cooked them exactly 15 mins. YUMMY!

World's Best Lasagna
My adjustments were using Trader Joe's Arrabiata sauce and no-boil noodles, fewer sweet Italian sausages (3 large sausages)and more ground beef (2 lbs). Sorry, but I was stressed for time. Was delicious. Later, I tried the true recipe. I found that it had too much sausage flavor for me. The sauce was really good with the fennel seed which I did not have on hand. I made a trip to the store just for that, and I'm glad that I did. . .YUM!

Best Lemonade Ever
I make this every summer with fresh squeezed lemons. It's easy and refreshing. Reminds me of lemonade my friend's grandma used to make for us when we were kids. We picked the lemons from our backyard lemon tree. Sixty years later, I get my bag of lemons from Costco now.
