About this Cook
I have been married to wonderful Christian man for 10 years. Cooking for him has been a challenge(he eats very few vegetables and no mayo). I enjoy entering my baked goodies in county fairs.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking in general, but chicken and dumplings is one of my favorites. Another is my no sugar added caramel apple pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving my husbands family always asks me to bake the turkey and make dressing. Of course, you have got to have gravy and dumplings to go with that.
My cooking triumphs
Since having gastric by-pass surgery 2 years ago, I can't tolerate sugar. It is a challenge to convert regular recipes to sugar free or no sugar added. Two years ago at the fair I won Best in Show for my No Sugar Added Caramel Apple Pie.
My cooking tragedies
I entered a sweet potato pound cake in a local county fair about 5 years ago and didn't break my eggs in a separate bowl. When I came home from entering the cake I cut a slice and the first bite I heard a crunch--it was egg shell. Needless to say I received no ribbon that year. Since then I have received numerous blue ribbons and 1 Best in Show.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
I have a small baking business. A lady at work wanted a soft chocolate chip cookie for her little girls school party and I made these. She loved them. They told me they stayed soft for days. Since then I have made them numerous times and always get the same response. The last time I used chocolate pudding, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, mini Reese's cups(frozen and cut in 1/4's), chopped pecans and coconut. They were fantastic!!! Thanks for a great recipe.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
If you don't have favorite banana bread recipe, this is it. The moistness doesn't leave after being frozen and you still have all that great aroma. I have tried many recipes for banana bread but this one by far is THE BEST!!! Thanks for passing along the recipe.

Banana Cake VI
Well Cindy Carnes has done it again, submitted another great recipe. I followed it to the letter and it turned out wonderful. Everyone at church loved it. I didn't have any cream cheese but I did have a little bit of vanilla icing and a little dab of chocolate icing in the fridge so I put the vanilla on first then drizzled on the chocolate. Cindy keep those great recipes coming!!!
