I'm an artist and proud stay-at-home mom with a loving husband and one beautiful baby girl... so far :) In my spare hours I try to get motivated to do artwork, often being sidetracked tying to think up a reason to make cookies. Anything with lots of sugar! No really... baking and a love for sugar has run through our family so that's not too far from the truth. Other than cookies and cakes, I love making slightly more complicated and gourmet dishes, especially when they turn out. There's nothing like walking into a house and smelling an incredible dinner that you'll be enjoying shortly :) Our family had the basic usual traditions, turkey on Thanksgiving, cookies at Christmas, etc. Mom always made a ton of cookies around Christmas, so when she started to tire of it and be unable to make them all (she had ALS) I picked up the reins and started filling in the gaps. In later years, mom made an incredible prime rib with madeira/mushroom sauce for Chrsitmas dinner a few times. We also had a yummy hash brown,sour cream, canadian bacon and poached egg dish that became the Christmas morning standard.
