I'm a 24 year old newly wed whose pickiness in foods greatly challenges my goals of being a great cook. Just to get it out up front... I do not eat veggies. Corn and potatoes are the extent of the veggies I eat. I think I despise onions the most of all. With that said... I do like to cook and love finding new recipes that are delicious and easy to make.
Oh yes, and if you are wondering... I do often try a veggie here and there hoping that suddenly my taste buds have changed.. unfortunately they have yet to do so. And so far I haven't died from the lack of veggies, I would be a great science experiment for someone studing the effects of food.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of sweets... I love to Bake (especially since it never involves veggies). At least once a week I bake something. Its my way of relaxing
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making sugar cookies at Christmas. Who doesn't?
My cooking triumphs
I actually have a signature dish at Thanksgiving. Its a sweet potato soufle that is easy and delicious. Every year its requested and I always bring it. When your husband's grandmother tells you its delicious.. you know it must be.
My cooking tragedies
Ha! Once I screwed up hamburger helper beef noodle. This was right after I started college. I must have over looked the directions on the box a failed to add enough water or something. The dish turned out so strong and salty I've never had any desire to try and make it again (the right way!). blehk!
