About this Cook
A wife and proud mother of 1 child, my husband and our puppy. Working to provide a life that neither of us had growing up and of course, cooking great meals for my family is what i LOVE to do.
My favorite things to cook
I love making comfort food, buttery flaky food with tons of seasoning and love. I also love to bake. During the holidays, I tend to gain a lot of weight along with everyone else around me. I LOOOVe sweets, so it's very easy for me to know what tastes good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time - decorating cookies and cakes, making fudge. Thanksgiving - Making a feast and WOWING the family with the vast amount of food on the table. Dinner at night, getting my son to help.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking thanksgiving dinner for my family and wowing my husband. I felt so proud of myself last year.. Coming up with my first recipe - peanut butter coma cake.
My cooking tragedies
Orange chicken - tasted like childrens asprin.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
Maybe I made this wrong, but the sauce was too dry for me, unlike the manwich stuff. I will try adding more liquid ingredients next time.

Golden Sweet Cornbread
Very moist and delicious. I used 2% milk in my recipe and everything else was verbatum. I mixed honey and margerine together to go on top, and it added the perfect touch!

Penne and Vodka Sauce
This may replace my weekly spagetti dinners! We love our tomato pasta, but this was a very nice change. I sauteed onions with the butter and added a bit of oil, then added some minced garlic and then the pancetta. I added a number of italian spices (italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, parm. cheese and red cayenne pepper) to the sauce once i added the tom. sauce and cream. It was lovely! Not a bite left between the THREE of us!
