About this Cook
I am a new mom so I don't get to experiment as often as I once did. When I get the chance I love trying new recipes!
My favorite things to cook
Anything new. I make my family be my guinea pigs!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from the midwest and they still cook those rich comfort foods. I love finding new ways to make them healthier, but with them same taste.
My cooking triumphs
Over the years I have learned to perfect several types of cookies! I used to make flat brick cookies. Now they are moist and chewy everytime!
My cooking tragedies
I am bad at cooking homemade mac n' cheese. I have yet to learn how to do it right! It always comes out dry and chunky. Blah!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence
AWESOME!!!! I used this to marinate a flat iron steak, it was splendid. I also had two requests for the recipe after making it. Thanks for sharing.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole
This was yummy! My husband, daughter and I loved it. I made it exactly as stated, no changes needed. But I did see some ideas that would be fun to change it up a bit. Instead of ham - Bacon and green onions or chives could make it a loaded baked potato casserole. Green peppers and onions would be awesome as well. I appreciate you sharing this recipe. I know many more will enjoy it as I plan on using this for future gatherings. Thanks!!!

Rempel Family Meatloaf
This was great. I used 2 lbs of ground beef, but didn't change any other ingredients. My husband and I love the crusty edges so we do a free form meat loaf on a cookie sheet. That way there is more browned edges, and I upped the cooking temp to 360 so that I could get a little more crust built up. BUT the ingredients were great and the steak sauce is subtle but tasty. Thanks for sharing the recipe! We are keeping it in our recipe book for future use!
