About this Cook
I love to cook! Though many of my recipes come from my mom, my replications are never as good. I still learning and am getting better every day. I love Allrecipes for the ease of finding recipes, tips from other cooks, and the sheer number of choices!
My favorite things to cook
I like to make different types of salads, like cucumber, tuna and pasta salad. I also really like to bake and make all sorts of desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am a first-generation German, so we do a lot of potato pankcakes, wurst, schnitzal, and cucumber salad.
My cooking triumphs
I did my first Thanksgiving last year. We had just moved to Charlotte and had no family or friends around, so it was just my husband and I. The number of guests didn't stop me from making a huge spread - I made a 10lb turkey, apple stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted cauliflower, fresh green beans, rolls, and 2 types of pie - everything was so delicious that we hardly missed our family.
My cooking tragedies
I guess the biggest tragedy is when you put a lot of time into a dish you love and you share at a pot-luck type of setting and you think the dish is fabulous, but no one compliments it.

Cocoa Oatmeal Cookies
These cookies were great! I was looking for a quick recipe that utilized ingredients I had on hand and I found this jewel. I did not have any raisins, but the cookies were delicious without. I will definitely make again.

Easy Peach Crisp II
I rated this recipe 4 stars because of the ease of the preparation and the taste. I also loved the fact that it didn't require any special ingredients, only things I already had on hand. I added nutmeg, 1/2 c oatmeal, and 1/2 c of brown sugar, like others suggested. I actually sort of messed the receipe up and started to mix the peaches in with the flour, but I added a sprinkle of sugar to the floured peaches and then added the rest of the topping, and it still turned out delicious! Would definitely make again - and the right way next time.

Cherry Cobbler II
I love this recipe. It is so easy and simple. The recipe is still delicous with the butter reduced, as others have recommended in their reviews. I have made it multiple times. It is also tastes great cold.
