About this Cook
I'm 30yrs old and I live in northern suburbs of Chicago with my boyfriend of 3yrs. I love traveling, fine dining, movies, concerts, plays, martini bars, live music, shopping, and dancing.
My favorite things to cook
Dinner is my favorite meal to cook, followed by dessert! I love chicken, fish, and vegetable recipes that are somewhat simple, but very tasty. I recently started baking and have begun to really enjoy it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up my family ate dinner together every night. My mom would cook and my siblings and I would always help out. I have tried to carry on that tradition with my boyfriend's kids, always asking them to help out and always making sure we eat dinner as a family!
My cooking triumphs
When my boyfriend and his kids enjoy something I have made and they go back for seconds or if it comes down to splitting the last remaining bites I know I have made something really awesome!
My cooking tragedies
When I was cooking mashed potatoes this last holiday season, and it happened to be the first time I was using my formal dinning room, the recipe, here on this site, was for 100 servings, I changed the amount of everything BUT the salt! I tried taking out the salt when I realized what had happened but it was too late, they came out so salty, they were awful! Luckily, everything else was amazing and my sister and her son as well as my boyfriend's kids were all very gracious about it!!!

Lobster Tails Steamed in Beer
This was amazing and soooooo easy!!! I did as other recommending by steaming with garlic ( I used 2 cloves). I served with melted butter, next time I will also serve with lemon wedges.

Beefy Barbecue Macaroni
This was an easy tasty meal! I used 2x the milk and cayenne pepper, 1lb of ground sirloin instead of 3/4 lb ground beef, I added mushrooms, and kidney beans, and 4 cloves of garlic instead of 3, Sweet Baby Ray was the BBQ sauce I used, it is was fantastic. It wasn't too sweet or bbq tasting as the other reviewers stated, probably because I added the extra ingredients? I wanted to save time, so I didn't melt the butter, milk, and cheese beforehand, I just added it cold to the mix towards the end, it is was just fine. I also didn't put it in the oven as other reviewers had suggested. I will make this again for sure, it was like homemade hamburger helper, and my boyfriend who hates Hambuger Helper loved this!!!

World's Best Pasta Sauce!
I thought this was great! I didn't have any tomato paste, so I added more tomato sauce and water. I also used 2 kinds of sausage, mild and hot, and also added more of both than the recipe called for. I didn't have Italian seasoning, so I just added more basil. I also added more garlic, 3 cloves, and more onions just because I like them so much! I will make again...easy and my family loved it.
