Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
Used all bread flour. The dough was an excellent texture and very easy to shape into loaves. After the bread was shaped, put it directly on sheet pan. Not coordinated enough to slide onto a pan after rising.

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
This recipe was good, using 8 oz sliced fresh mushrooms, diced onions, minced garlic and fresh parsley. I also used only 1 tbsp of butter and half and half, and shredded the chicken in large chunks. I did need to add about a cup more half and half to make a little saucier.

This was simple but very good! I am not a fish eater but my husband is. I made chicken for me, the same way. Very good.

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
Awesome recipe, much better than the recipe on the peanut butter chip bag. They do not spread much, and are very moist and chewy. Using a small cookie scoop, this recipe made 75 cookies. Baked for 9 minutes (I have pretty heavy cookie sheets) and they came out great.

When my niece requested snickerdoodles, I didn't have a go-to recipe so I tried this one. Her and her sister finished them off in no time....

I made this for my niece, who is a new mom, and she thought it was "the bees knees', better than any candy store divinity.

Blueberry Orange Bread

My son ate this in just over a day, pretty much by himself. The only change was that I used fresh squeezed orange juice from the orange I zested.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I used this to marinade flank steak and chicken. My guys preferred it on chicken, eating all of the three chicken breasts. Would probably be good in quesidillas the next day, next time I will marinate only chicken, hopefully enough to have leftovers........

Joanne's Super Hero Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
Three cloves of garlic was overwhelming, definitely cut back or make sure they are small cloves. I used my food processor to make the olive salad, starting with pulsing the garlic, then adding the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice and seasonings, then pulsing sliced black olives and sliced mushrooms. I will make again for my Super Bowl party, it is a good, make ahead sandwich.

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
Creamy, tasty, quick and easy. I didn't have whole milk, so I used 1 cup heavy cream and 5 cups 2% milk. The dried spices and hot sauce add just the right amount of flavor. Used the leftover potato skins to make potato skins as an appetizer. Just season and deep fry (or brush with oil and broil) top with cheddar, bacon bits and green onion and bake until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream....my guys loved this meal.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I just added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to this recipe. These cookies are very tender and buttery. I found that using the knuckle of my index finger rather than my thumb for the impression was much easier. Very good. I used the two leftover egg whites to make divinity, an excellent combination of Christmas treats.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
I used half Granny Smith and half Golden Delicious apples, added 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg, poured it over the apples in the crust. Applied the top crust, brushed it with cream and sprinkled with sugar. Very good pie. Apples were perfect, not too soggy, not undercooked. Excellent recipe.
