Delicious Chocolate Cornflake Cakes

Great stuff. I was amazed they stayed crispy for days. They have to be kept refrigerated tho. I will definately make again but with way less butter. Hopefully then i can keep them at room temerature for longer than 1 minute.

Made these a long time back. They were awesome, but so much work, i never made em again. Might try again someday. Btw, not adding extra sugar isnt the same as sugarfree ;)

Italian Herb Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I just got myself a Kitchenaid standmixer and wanted to try out a good stiff dough to see how it would work (got a bit concerned after reading some reviews). It did fine tho and there were no problems. IT also made this recipe very easy as it doesnt require lotsof kneading. Anyways, this bread was very, very good. Nice soft texture. Will brush it with something next time to make it a bit crispier, but otherwise great.

Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
A very very good hotsauce. It has a great flavour, nice and spicy. I only used half the habaneros, making it less hot so i can eat it as well. Will make a batch like this again and another batch with the full amount of habaneros next time for my husband, who likes it a lot hotter. It also makes a great marinade for chicken or pork. Good stuff!!!

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
It's only been in the fridge for 2 hours now, but i can already say i really like this tiramisu. It looks good and i could already cut out a piece without it sinking in. I like that you dont need to whip up the eggwhites ( i have plastic bowls). I made a full cup of really strong coffee and 100 ml of amaretto and poured it on a deep plate to soak the lady fingers in it for a few seconds. It's definately needs much more soaking next time, maybe even more coffee, but i won't be sure untill tomorrow when i can have the true test. I also folded everything together and just made 3 layer out of that. Much easier. Oh, oh and also i didn't split teh lady fingers. Still great tho. UPDATE: It definaely need more coffe. A full cup and the 100ml liquor didnt do enough. Maybe because i didnt split the lady fingers, but they had no coffe on the inside of them. We like them soaked/almost mushy and full of coffeeflavour.

Apple-Cran-Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
Very nice cookie. I tried many oatmeal cookies now and they never turn out Right. Honestly, this wasn't what i was searching for either, but it was a pleasant surprise. Nice and chewy. I think i made em a bit too big, cause i did have to cook them for 20 minutes, but it still made an exact 125 cookies. I couldn't find dried cherries, so i just added some raisins with the cranberries and i love them. I will definately be making these again. Update: will make a lot less next time. They lose their crispiness within a day and get kinda old soon.

Welfare Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This was alright. Very moist indeed. Very dark taste. I had no eegs and was craving for chocolate so i gave it a try. I do prefer it a bit less dark. I also added white chocolate chips, which was a mistake. They all sank, breaking the cake when i tried to get it out. The white chocolate/cake scrapings from the bottom were amazing tho. Might try again when out of egg. With eggs, i had way better cakes. I also had to cook it about an hour. The middle hadn't even set a little at 40 minutes.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
Very good cookies. The coffe gave it sort of a butterscotch taste. You can bake tese just according to taste, a bit longer gives a crunchy cookie, shorter gives a chewy one. both good. I did bake at 300F for about 25-30 minutes tho.

Mel's Magnificent Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very nice cookies. not at all what i was looking for, but they turned out wonderfull. I bet they'd just taste like subways with white chocolate chips and macademia nuts. They do come out very flat, but the taste is great. Made one batch, it was gone b4 it was cooled down.

Very nice, spicy yet mild. I did double the spices and added 1/2 tsp of curry powder to it. Good recipe to give your own twist too if needed.

Easy Swedish Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
Hmmm. it just seemed to good to be true. I tried this cause i wanted apple pie but i was too lazy to make one. this one seemed easy. i cooked it for about 15 minutes longer, but the batter never firmed up. There was just a thin crunchy top, the rest was just batter really. The bottom was very soggy. I give it some stars cause it didnt tase bad, but i can not serve this to my guests...ever...

My first time making chutney and it somehow ended up like syrup? It tastes well, but it looks like syrup and it's way, WAAAY too sweet. Might try again, but definately with lotsa adjustments.

i loved it. It's actually the same as we make our witloof (xept wrapping those in ham and cheese b4 putting them in the pan). My husband ate it which was something, he hates white sauces. And witloof too.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
Im not familiar with pecan pies. I tried the honey crunch pecan pie before, liked the flavour, but not the texture and it was too sweet for me. But this one is very good. Had a piece when it was still warm, kinda heavy but would have been good with icecream. It's like a caramel pecan pie when its cold. Very, very good.
