About this Cook
I love to cook....actually grill! I will try to make just about anything. My boyfriend is from Mexico, and I am learning to cook authentic mexican food. Cooking lets me relieve stress, nothing better than cooking a good meal and appreciating it with friends & family.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook is anything on the grill. Flank Steak, Family burnt chicken, beer can chicken, homemade salsa, etc....I have also been told that I make the most amazing hamburgers. I know, simple, but a fun compliment to receive, none the less.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a large family in Ohio. We would get together and BBQ; my grandpa would always make the best chicken...we called it burnt chicken...and still do. It is a memory that will stay with me forever. Family together...nothing better!
My cooking tragedies
Baking! I just can't do it. Granted I don't like to measure things..just eyeball it and taste. Not a good strategy for baking. Also, I live at high altitude and no matter how much I follow a baking recipe, it seems that I just screw up most of my baking attempts. What can you do?!? BBQ!:)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
This was great! I absolutely loved it. I only changed one thing because I like spicy food. I added a couple of diced jalapenos with the celery at the beginning to add a small kick.
