Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This is a great recipe. I give it four stars because it needs an extra can of soup to be creamy enough. I like to use one can of cream of potato and one can of cream of chicken. I have also used this recipe in the slow cooker on low for eight hours and it turns out great.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I give this 4 1/2 stars. It was very tasty. I followed the advice of another reviewer and cooked it in my crockpot all day. I couldn't wait to taste it. I used petite diced tomatoes and they were just the right texture. I think next time I will add finely chopped carrots in with the onion and garlic. I think this would give the sauce a little more sweetness. I will definitely try this again. It would even be a good one for company.

This bread is great. I love the chewy texture with the crispy edges. It is great for sandwiches. It gives any plain lunchmeat sandwich a gourmet taste.

We loved this rice. I can't wait to make it again during garden season, throwing in whatever veggies we'll have on hand.

Sauceless Garden Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
This is such a garden fresh recipe. Almost all of the ingredients came right out of our garden. It was really wonderful. It looked beautiful in the pan, but it was hard to cut pieces without it coming apart. I think next time I will try it with rotini and mix together as one big caserole with the cheese layer on top. Can't wait to make it again.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
This was really good. I loved the flavor of the green beans cooked with the sausage. It was way too much pepper for our tastes, that made it a little too spicy. Next time I will use just a dash of pepper. I also think it would be good to melt the butter with oil in a bowl, add seasonings, then add meat in vegetables, stir to coat. Then pour onto the foil. This would get rid of the pockets of salt caused by uneven sprinkling. With those changes I know this recipe will become a favorite.

Grilled Gyro Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
These were better than I expected them to be. My family loved them. My picky 8 year old had seconds. She said this is her new favorite meal. I give it 5 stars for that! She doesn't like any new recipes I try. This was not authentic, but it's not supposed to be. For an americanized version of a greek favorite and a nice altrnative to regular hamburgers, it was perfect!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
This is a fantastic recipe. I made it the night before and I wanted to eat the sauce with a spoon, it smelled and tasted so good! I used lean ground turkey and some cheese and garlic flavored Italian sausage for the meat. I think next time I will make more sauce, or use only two layers of noodles instead of three. We like our lasagna saucy. Thanks for the great recipe.

Chicken Nuggets

These were pretty good. My kids love the idea of having chicken nuggets for dinner. I think they would eat them no matter how they were prepared. These had a different flavor with the herbs and parm cheese. It was a nice change.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

This was very good stew. I have three daughters. One liked the beef, one liked the potatoes, and one liked the carrots. Between the three of them they licked the platter clean.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
MY aunt was visiting from Mexico and she said this is pretty much how she makes her rice. The only difference is she adds water to the rice after browning it, then after that is absorbed, she adds the salsa. Make sure the salsa has a lot of onion, garlic, and cilantro for the best flavor.

Taco Pizza

I give this recipe 10 stars! We love love loved it!! I was full, but I didn't want to stop eating it, and my husband said the same. The crust was perfect, the sauce was perfect, it was just great all around. I did try some crushed doritos on one slice, and that was good, too. But the best was dipping it into guacamole. YUM!!! I can't wait to make this for company.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This recipe was so easy. The fish was cooked perfectly and so tender. I did feel it the taste was a little bland. Maybe I need to sprinkle some seasoning on the fish before adding the parm mixture. Still a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

The whole family enjoyed this dish. I thought the recipe was great as is. I did end up using unseasoned croutons (bought by mistake) and the salt content was fine. Thanks for a tasty and easy recipe!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
These were so easy. I usually use a recipe for dumpling strips, which have a great tender flavor, but take a long time to prepare because I have to cut in shortening. With this recipe I used the suggestion to put it in my bread machine on the dough cycle. I was even able to double the recipe and it came out perfect. The dough was nice and stretchy and so easy to work with. This will be my new noodle recipe and I'll just save the other one for special occasions.
