About this Cook
You really aren’t cooking unless you're experimenting. Recipes are guides with no soul; it's your job to add the soul.
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Banana Bread, Macaroni and Cheese, and Crab Dip.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every time there are 5 Sundays in a month, my extended family gets together and cooks dinner. Lots of cooks in the kitchen and lots of great food. This is a tradition started by my grandmother because her children moved all over country.
My cooking triumphs
Making my MacGyver dinner with salmon, pasta and a cucumber. I cooked the salmon in a foil packet, boiled the pasta, made a roux with the cucumber, mixed it together and topped it with some parmesan cheese. It was great!
My cooking tragedies
Learning last months ago that bread makers are not set it and forget it! LOL. Wow that was a lot of smoke. (September 2008)

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread
I used milk instead of water. And I soaked the oatmeal in the milk for about 30 minutes before putting it in the bread maker.

Cinnamon Rolls III
Pretty good recipe; I made these on Christmas Eve. For the dough, Bread maker on Dough cycle all the way! For the inside, I had some left over apples so skinned, cored, blended, and then created an apple cinnamon syrup. Cut the roll with thread. I put them in the refrigerator overnight. Pulled them out Christmas morning to get them to room temperature and baked them. For the icing, I creamed the butter with the sugar first then adding the whipped cream cheese, since I whipped it by hand. I halved the icing into two sandwich bag and added red and green food coloring, cut a small corner of the sandwich bad and piped the icing over the rolls. Very good. Now taking orders from my family. One family suggestion was a peach syrup for the next ones.
