About this Cook
Hey, I'm niki, a 15 year old from the Philippines..I'm going to college next year, and I still don't know what course to choose!! Anyway.... I'm not a professional cook, but I'm pretty good. I cook when I'm bored, hungry, or when there're proper ingredients in the kitchen. If our kitchen were bigger and updated, I'm sure I'd be a great chef!
My favorite things to cook
I like stuff that's easy to prepare like shakes, pancakes, stir-fried dishes, asian food.. you know stuff like that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm from the Philippines and we come from the province of Pampanga. Pampangeños are known for their great cooking skills, that's why women in our family are good in cooking almost anything. But I especially like family recipes for 'saucy' foods, like menudo, caldereta and adobo.
My cooking triumphs
I don't have a cooking triumph yet. My mom does most of the cooking at home, and all I've done is minor breakfast foods.
My cooking tragedies
It's not a really major cooking tragedy, but it would have to be the times when I burn the pancakes or the fried rice. My little sister gets really dismayed (she's quite better than me at cooking :)).

Pork and Chicken Adobo
There really is chicken and pork adobo, and it is actually one of my favorite foods. Anyway, I wonder where what restaurant that is, it must be closed by now... I was really surprised when soy sauce was optional here, when it is actually one of the main ingredients.

Sinigang na Baka
I tried the recipe, it was good but it needs a little more souring. Anyway, if you want to make it spicy, add green na sili, also I'd suggest gabi to make it a little thicker. The vegetables my mom added were kangkong, gabi, tomatoes and sometimes, eggplant.
