My husband is a Rabbi which makes me a Rebbetzin. We love having lots of people over for meals, and have become famous for our cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts especially chocolate. The problem is that i always wind up tasting too much of it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, I didn't really have any cooking traditions, but now that I'm married, my husband and I have been creating our own. This includes making doughnuts for Chanukah and Hamentashen for Purim. I also love making giant matzah balls (we call them Monster Balls) every Friday for Shabbat.
My cooking triumphs
In my previous tiny apartment, the only kind of oven that I had to cook with in is something that, outside of my apartment, everybody would call a toaster! I've managed to cook feasts as well as cook for a large party all in that little oven.
My cooking tragedies
I love making hot chocolate cake, and I could be a pro. I once borrowed a friend's oven to make it in, and the oven wasn't calibrated properly. The whole thing dried out, but I had no way of testing it before serving, so it was super gross to serve and eat.
