About this Cook
I love to bake, especially when its rainy or snowing on a Saturday morning!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, nut breads, rolls, soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my family gathers before the holidays and makes the Christmas dinner(11 adults and 13 grandchildren!) We make homemade ravioli and meatballs and croutons for the Wedding soup. The younger children learn to roll the dough and pierce the sides to keep them from opening.
My cooking triumphs
The ability to throw together any ingredients from the fridge and make a meal without a recipe, especially soups.
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving away from home! I was living in Phoenix, AZ and hosted a dinner for some new friends. I didn't know that there was a bag of gizzards in the turkey neck. I always thought it was just in the chest cavity!!! Needless to say I was very embarrassed!!

Crustless Cranberry Pie
My intentions when making this pie was to serve it as a dessert after our Thanksgiving dinner, but it never made it that far! Once it came out of the oven and everyone saw how beautiful it was, it was consumed in no time. I think I will add a handful more of walnuts, but I would not change anything else. It's definitely on the list for a Christmas morning treat.
