Mango Hawaiian Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I thought these were great cookies! I used a bag of dried mango/pineapple/papaya that i had left over from something else, in place of just the mango and i did not use dried cranberries. They were really good. I needed to cook them more about 16 min than 10 min but not a big deal. It takes time to wait for them to cool before you can take them off, so make sure you have time to finish them before an event.

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
This was great. I used the combination of spices i had in my house and just threw stuff on the potatoes until it seemed like enough. I thought they were too sweet and not spicy enough. But i love the concept and it is a great base to play with this sweet and spicy combo.

Very Best Blueberry Cobbler!

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
This was a really great recipe and a crowd favorite at the latest gathering of my friends. I didn't use the cinnamon sugar topping, i wasn't sure how well cinnamon would mix with the blueberry taste. I used about 4 tablespoons of lemon juice for the juice of one lemon. I was surprised by how little sauce was in the blueberries when you baked them, pretty much just lemon juice and sugar coated berries, but the sauce from the cooked berries was wonderful!

Poppy Seed Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
This was a great recipe. easy to make and very tasty! I kept one bread and gave the other to a friend. The bread was much better about 5 hours after it cooled than right out of the oven. I will definitely make this one again.

White Chocolate Cranberry Granola Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I really like how many things one can do with this simple recipie. My BF and I really enjoyed them i have a sweet tooth and he doesn't so i just cut bigger bars for myself :). They stay fresh for a long time in the fridge [a few months]. I prefer the taste right out of the fridge anyway. overall just a stellar recipie. for storage i put them all in a big ziploc baggie last time, this time when i make them i will put them in a fold over baggie for me to take with me on the go.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I bought a jar of blueberries in light syrup the ingredients were blueberries, sugar, and citrus juice. This covered the first part of this recipe. I made the dough ahead of time and put it in the fridge and about halfway through dinner I emptied the jar of blueberries into the baking dish and dotted the top with the dough, couldn't be simpler, or easier I served it with vanilla ice cream for rave reviews and clean plates!

really good and really easy i will definitly use it again. i put my dough in the fridge to chill even though it said not to, i had other stuff to do at the time, i ended up having to let it thaw to be able to use it. i just rolled it into a log and cut circle slices. everyone liked them!

these were good. i found chocolate wafer cookies at my grocery store and they were PERFECT! i used peppermint and mint extract (because i ran out of of pepeprmint) i also added a little of vanallia extract. they were wonderful tasted just like thin mints. i dipped half of the cookie in the chocolate and then put red sprinkles on it for some festive colors.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
very good and very easy. I wasn't sure if teh recipe called for removing the cream filling or not, but i was in a hurry and didn't want to. i took the whole package of cookies and broke them up into my mixer and let it have at it for a few minutes. then added the cream cheese and was good to go. i would shape the dough into balls then chill, and coat in chocolate. the two fork technique really does work the best. i thoughth a slotted spoon would work but it tracked chocolate everywhere! i was skpetical that the balls would stay on the fork but the chocolate helps the balls stay on the forks while switching from fork to fork to get rid of excess chocolate. also these are pretty sweet so smaller balls are better

Meatless Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
This was a really good base. My boyfriend and I added finally chopped carrots, celary, red pepper, onions and garlic to the ground feef (fake beef) all in a big skillet, added some generic all herb seasoning, the skillet was big enough to mix the bread crumbs and oil/egg in with later. We also added the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, sauce to the top and it cooked up really nicely.

Amy's Sausage Apple Pie

My aunt makes this every year for Christmas Brunch. It is a family favourite! She uses breakfast sauage links cut up into bite size pieces and it is pretty good. I think it would also be suitiable for vegetarians in the family if we make one with vegetarian sausage links, it would be just as tasty as the real thing!

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
These were very good i doubled the recipie [that way i could use the whole bag of chocolate chips..the open bag is too tempting...] and they were just fine. i was a little sketical as the dough didn't taste very good so i added a little bit more powdered suger, but the finished product tastes just fine, a little "floury" but i don't think that distracts from the taste. i think they will be good with jam...i might try that next time...
