Lazy Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This was not only easy but YUMMY! It made a large batch and was cheesy, creamy and had great flavor. I did use medium cheddar for the cheese, left out the mustard and added some garlic powder. If you don't like the custard type of mac and cheese you may want to try something else. This is a keeper at my house. I love the fact that I don't have to pre cook the pasta, just add some grated cheese and some milk and eggs and its ready to bake and forget.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This is a great versatile recipe! The first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly and they were fantastic! They held together well and fried up nice. Since then I have subbed tuna and/or added different herbs, grated cheese, crushed potato chips instead of bread crumbs....the possibilities are endless. Just stick to the fish:eggs:dry ingredients ratio and tweak to your hearts content! Econimical and yummy!!!

Corn Dog Casserole

My family loved this. Tastes like corn dogs and they topped it off with mustard. I did leave out the celery and added some garlic but other than that i made it as stated. Smells great cooking too!

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This is the best sweet and sour sauce i have ever tasted or made for that matter. It was easy too. I added cooked cubed chicken, red and green peppers, onion, water chestnuts and pineapple. I also used the drained pineapple juice and 1/4 cup soy sauce as part of the 2 cups water called for. I also added 3 drops of sesame oil which i love in all asian cooking. It makes a pretty good size batch but we still had no leftovers at all. Yum! This is a keeper for sure!!!!

Lemon Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
WOW! I love this recipe. As long as you have a can of pie filling (you can use any flavor for this), the rest of the ingredients are basic pantry items. I made this with lemon and the can was actually 22 ounces rather than the smaller one the recipe calls for. I put the cinamon and sugar on the very top and it worked out very well. My husband said the flavor reminded him of a combo of Snickerdoodle and Sugar cookies with a yummy creamy lemon filling bonus. I will be making this often. Next time I will try cherry filling, or maybe apple, or perhaps blueberry...hmmm??

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
My family loves this. I actually triple the recipe with the following changes: I use 2 red sweet peppers, 1 1/2 onions, I add garlic, cumin and a can of drained whole kernal corn along with an extra can of mild green chiles. I also cook up some ground sausage and sautee the onions and peppers with it. We serve it with nacho cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips. Yum!

Hurry-Up Ham Carbonara

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
This was delicious! I did make a couple of changes however. I added some fresh thyme, lots of garlic and I used cheddar instead of parm. Also, I think my fresh from the coop egg yolks made a big difference in the richness of this dish. I will make this again and try different herbs and cheeses.

Oriental Chicken Skillet

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This is so fast and easy! I cubed my meat, used probably double the amount of frozen veggies which were stir fry mix (we love veggies), and i added 1/4 cup soy sauce rather than 1 T. Also added some sesame oil which added a nice flavor. I will make this over and over and it can be changed up as easy as replacing the type of meat or veggies. Cream soup is something i always have in my pantry.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
This is soooo Good!! I made a few changes to suit my taste but the basic recipe is yummy too! I drained a 10 oz jar of marashino cherries, reserving the juice and using that to add with water as needed to soak the oatmeal in, I used milk choc chips, the cherries that i chopped in the processor, mini marshmallows instead of coconut and cinnamon instead of cocoa powder. This turned out rich, goey and deliicious!!!

Zucchini Cheese Garlic Appetizer

These were okay. A bit plain. I agree they are sort of like quiche squares. I am going to take the leftovers and top with spaghetti sauce as suggested by another. I wont make this again however.

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This was easy, very tasty and the sauce is really good over rice! I made some changes to better fit my family's needs: I used 6 rather than 4 chops, Used a larger casserole dish to accomodate. I left out the dry mustard and added a pack of onion soup mix and some garlic to the tomato sauce. I used 1/2 cup brown sugar. I also used 2 cans of italian herb tomato sauce. I baked at 350 for 1 hour. The sauce was a bit runnier than I expected but was absorbed well by the rice. Next time I wont add the 1 cup of additional water I added, which really should have been 1/2 cup to begin with. I will make this again soon, and maybe add some pineapple chunks and a bit more brown sugar.

Stuffing for Slow Cooker

This tasted fantastic and was super easy! They say it is not safe to cook the stuffing in the bird, and this was easy, freed up oven time and tasted the same as bird stuffed dressing to me. I will be doing my stuffing this way from now on!!

YUMMY! I used hazelnuts instead of walnuts. I tossed it with pasta one night for dinner and it was to die for. the next night I used it to make gourmet pizza...also tasty! I even had some left over so i froze it and used it later. It froze great. The taste and aroma of this is awesome!! Easy and yet gourmet!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This is a wonderful bread!! My husband and I make it together, by hand, no machines, and we make about 4 to 6 loaves a week for our family of 4. We dont buy bread. It has a nice sweetness which makes great toast, as well as sandwiches, french toast and even garlic toast. We love it and it turns out perfect everytime!!

Quick Garlic Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I made this with the measurements given but I blended the butter, garlic powder (not salt) and parmasaen cheese and then put it on the bread. It was good but next time I will toast one side under the broiler and then flip it over and put on the butter mixture and broil. My first try, the bread was a bit soft on the bottom. Also, next time I will use more garlic. Overall, this was a yummy, quick and convenient addition to a meal.

Tater Crisp Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
I loved this chicken. The coating is yummy and comes out brown and crispy. It is so simple, the only change I made was that I used half soft margarine and half oil instead of butter because that is what I had on hand and it still was fantastic! I can't wait to make it again, I may need to cook more legs next time.

Cindy's Tasty Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
I Love this recipe!! as does my family! The sauce has wondeful flavor! I do however cook my chicken for a while first and then drain before pouring on the sauce which i pre mix. I then cook them until they fall apart and look glazed and yummy! I have done this with wings and with chicken tenders and serve with rice...the sauce is great on the rice! I have also added pineapple and green pepper chunks to this sauce.
