Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I used challah (egg) bread for this recipe as a personal preference (cut 6 slices, 1" thick). Per other reviews, I also cut down on the sugar a bit, used 4 eggs and left the crust on. The crust was crispy on some slices, moist on others. I will either use 5 eggs next time or cut off the crust. I loved the flavor and ease of the recipe. Will be added to breakfast rotation.

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I made this for my small family on Thanksgiving with a 3 lb. boneless breast. Only took 6 hours and could have been less. My boyfriend raved about it so much, he bought another breast that I am cooking today. Glancing at previous reviews, I omitted the Worch. and being a garlic freak, I really lathered on the garlic pepper and poultry seasoning. Threw in the packet of gravy included with the turkey; whipped up a packet of gravy I had on hand instead of canned; added a cup of chicken broth and turned breast over halfway through cooking. Prayed that all this would avoid a dry turkey. The result - a VERY moist and delicious turkey. BF raved about the extra kick it had. Is a keeper, especially for being soo easy!!

Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Only change I made was cutting up the sausage before adding it and blending one of the cans of tomato in the blender - I don't like the huge chunks. The taste was great, but the sauce was a little runny, probably from the blender action. Maybe i'll put more paste in it next time. Will keep this recipe though.

Pumpkin Pie Cake I

I made this for my family and let my mother tried it - now I have to make it for her church treat night! Only change was to mix the butter and cake together before I put it on top. Wonderful twist for pumkin!

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Delicious! I pound the breasts a little prior to marinating and double the spices - other than that , I don't need to change a thing. The chicken is so moist and full of flavor!

Super Grilled Salmon

Followed directions to the T. There was a lot of sauce left over and my boys didn't even like the sauce. The marinated fish was good though. Might make again.

Spiced Cocoa Cupcakes

Not wanting dry cupcakes, I added another egg, 1/4 C of applesauce and 1/4 C milk in addition to what was required. Substituted walnuts for the cranberries. This recipe is a keeper!

Tasty Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Made this tonight and my boyfriend raved about it! I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and halved the reduced sodium soy sauce. Still tasted salty to me - but if you really think about it, salt is the first ingredient listed on the boullion, so common sense would say you practically toss in 2 Tbsp of salt right there.
