KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* Savoury Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
These turned out awful :-( They had no flavour at all. I used two sweet potatoes instead of three, and I ran out of coating mix way before I ran out of sweet potatoes. After cooking them in the oven at 300 degrees for 45 minutes, they were still hard. The coating did come out crunchy, which is the only thing about this recipe that worked.

Million Dollar Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Oh wow -- what a disappointment. Although in all fairness to the recipe, this was my first attempt at making fudge, so it's likely a problem with me and not the recipe. I had no idea if I was supposed to stir the mixture only until it boiled, or as it boiled as well. So I stirred it about every 30 seconds while it boiled. I read in another review that scraping the sides of the pot will cause the fudge to go grainy, so I didn't scrape. I ended up with brown/burnt bits in the boiled mixture. When I stirred everything together, it turned into a dry and grainy mess -- nothing at all like the smooth & creamy fudge I was expecting. So discouraging. Especially because I bought really expensive chocolate. I was making the fudge to put in my hubby's Christmas stocking and to give to some other family members in theirs. I'm sure hubby will eat it anyway, but I won't be giving it away to anyone else. I hope I can get all the burnt sugar off the bottom of my pot.....

Pork and Shrimp Pancit

Love this recipe :-) I double the sauce and add diced red & green peppers. I only use a fraction of the oil (maybe 1 tsp.), and I don't saute the noodles.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
Great taste and texture :-) I made a half recipe and made muffins instead of loaves. A half recipe made 12 large muffins and 12 mini muffins. I baked them at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (a few minutes less for the mini muffins). I used a bit less sugar than the recipe calls for, and skipped the sugar/cinnamon mixture. I also used fresh blueberries instead of walnuts. Will definitely make this recipe again :-)

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
I accidentally made a really yummy salad using this recipe as the base. I started off making a salad with romaine lettuce. I had too much spinach for the supper dish I was making, so I mixed some of it with the romaine. I added cucumber and sliced vidalia onion, and that's when it occurred to me that I should have made a spinach & strawberry salad, seeing as I have a basket of berries in the fridge. Well, I decided what the heck -- I added sliced strawberries to what I already had on the plates and made the dressing from this recipe (minus the seeds because I didn't have any, and with half the olive oil). I also added some cashews and crumbled goat cheese to the salad. And the final result was DELICIOUS!!!!! The dressing really makes the salad -- but the flavours and textures of the other ingredients I added to the salad really worked well together.

Banana Oat Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
The taste is pretty good, but the texture is a bit weird. I like recipes like this where you can modify the ingredients. I used dried strawberries instead of raisins, and added a handful of slivered almonds and some flax seeds. A suggestion -- try using 1/4 cup of maple syrup instead of sugar.
