I love to cook, especially for other people. It makes me proud when they ask for 2nds or even better, the recipe. I live with my boyfriend Domenick who is a very picky eater, which makes cooking a challenge. I've learned just about everything I know about cooking from reading the reviews on “allrecipes.com". For someone who couldn’t make eggs 6 years ago I have to say I’ve come a long way. Nothing scares me now, I just jump right in!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are one pot meals, soups, stews, and appetizers, because those are my favorite things to eat, but I love to cook anything.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I used my crock pot I made a rosemary chicken (it was also the first time I used rosemary). The recipe called for fresh rosemary, I didn’t have any so I used dried. I read somewhere about the conversion between fresh and dried herbs being three times the amount only I apparently had it reversed in my head and used 3 times the amount of dried instead of 1/3rd. I though it tasted like dirt. My boyfriend and his brother said they liked it but I think they were just being nice. I have since learned the conversion… Dried herbs are three times as STRONG as fresh.
