I am of German decent and married to a polish man. We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. We live on a small farm in Texas. We basically like simple things. I enjoy cooking and make most of my meals from scratch. I enjoy crocheting and teaching religion. My favorite things to cook are prairie bread, omelets, pancakes, biscuits, Mexican food and German food. We love to BBQ brisket & chickens and country style pork ribs. Lately because of health, we are cooking low fat, high fiber meals. It has been an experience. Allrecipes.com has help tremendously. I love to make Chicken & Dumplings, Never could make dumplings like MOM but my family loves the ones I make. My husband's MOM would make chicken and gravy served over cornbread. Christmas cookies like chocolate chip, oatmeal, and peanut butter are baked every year and given to all my children and friends. My husband had a stroke and couldn't BBQ any more. So I learned how to cook a brisket as well as he did. Also learned how to chop the wood and make the fire. I can't recall any in a long time.
