Honeymooner in Cabo!
About this Cook
I am a food junkie that loves to entertain. I cook anything that involves the three B's: bacon, butter, or booze. You can find me, on any given day reading, exercising, scrapbooking, shopping, or cooking! I love to throw well-coordinated parties! ( I think in another life I was a party planner!) I am working on my teacher's certification, and have a bachelor's in photography, and in psychology.I have been happily married since June of 2004, and my husband and I are currently working on scraping enough money together to buy a house..
My favorite things to cook
All comfort foods! And dessert! Cheesecake, Italian or Mexican food, cookies, grilling out fillet mignon, whatever really. I hate fish or seafood of any kind, and I don't like many fruits, but other than that, I'm up for anything!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmastime baking traditions: icing shortbread cookies, making gingerbread houses.... I also love cooking with my husband. He is a wonderful cook!
My cooking triumphs
Baking my own fabulous 3-tiered square birthday cake, and making my own fondant icing to go on top.. It was beautiful!
My cooking tragedies
Coffee cake, pumpkin roll, CHAMPAGNE CAKE!!

Pistachio Cake III
I agree that there simply isn't enough pistachio flavor. Next time I will double the pistachio pudding., Also, I diced and toasted some pistachios and there them into the batter.. It helped!

Champagne Cake With Buttercream Icing
This recipe is not for anyone who likes fluffy, moist cakes. The consistency was heavy, and almost tasted like a biscuit. Not enough sugar, either. It wasn't what I expected at all. HOWEVER, the icing was wonderful, and I will be making that again. I also added a raspberry filling to the cake, which did help, but it wasn't enough to save this disaster.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies
Very gooey with a weird texture. Not my favorite.
