About this Cook
My name is Leanne. My interest in cooking did't start until university when it came down to eat fast / convenient food or start preparing my own meals from scratch. I started off with chicken soup and progressed from there. I live with my husband and we are in the process of adopting a child. I am currently writing a cookbook (you will have to wait for the name), and I already have orders for it. I love to garden and use the produce I grow, whether tomatoes, peppers, etc. I am the person most people call when they are looking for a recipe. The fact that I have over 150 cookbooks probably helps
My favorite things to cook
Soups - pumpkin is the most recent. I had it in Cuba, and figured out the recipe when I returned home Chicken and brocolli cannelloni or ravioli Chicken parmeson, Brandied raspberry chicken OK - anything chicken - anything with pasta - anything with garlic - and lots of sauces I love to cook international foods e.g. Pad Thai, Curried Chicken, Asian inspired dishes etc
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making meals with my father. Helping my grandfather cook when I was young Having all of my family together for a BBQ or actually anything at all
My cooking triumphs
I can go to a restaurant and try something new and then go home and replicate it without even knowing all of the ingredients
My cooking tragedies
I made a rhubarb custard pie that should have been re-named rubarb custard soup

Carolina Fish Cakes
I'll rate this as a five. I think the person who gave you 1 but wanted to give you a zero.was not very accurate in the review. I tried it and I have no idea what this person was talking about. I suspect it was not made according to directions. We all at some time add an ingredient twice so I would suspect this is what happened.Of course it coould have been the temperature. Leanne

Taco Seasoning
This is great. I am on a sodim reduced diet so I at least know that no extra salt (other that what may be in the chili powder) is added. Tastes great too.

Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry
This was great. I made only 2 changes when I made it. I used 3 skinless boneless chicken breasts (but mine may have been smaller. I did not have jasmine rice so I used basmati. I turned out great. I'll try it with the Jasmine rice next time. Leanne
