About this Cook
What can I say....I'M A MOM! I'm a Koren girl raised in the South. I come from a small family of women who love to cook and share good food with loved ones. My family and I love to have company over and eat and play games and laugh. I love spending time with my family foremost. I start each day with a fast walk, and end the day with a good book.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking my family's old recipies. I love to have their little snags of paper, or old recipe cards out...each in their own handwriting. I love to get a new cookbook and put a bunch of post-it's all over it to mark new meals that I want to try.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My fondest memories were in the kitchen with my Mom, Auntie, and Grandma. My new memories are of me and my daughter cooking and laughing together. She's an excellent cook already!
My cooking triumphs
Not sure that I would call it a triumph, but I love to cook my family's old recipies for new friends, and hear the compliments. It's the same things I grew up listening to about my mom's cooking, and that's all the same to me! :)
My cooking tragedies
My worst tragedy was when I made molasses cookies at my boss' house. We were making treat baskets for some of our clients and I just couldn't get the recipe right. I added too much butter and not enough flour. I had a horrible gloppy mess! I was so disappointed about the wasted butter, but even more embarrassed, because I messed up that whole recipe twice! There's no place like my own kitchen! There's no place like my own kitchen! There's no place like my own kitchen!

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'
this was a good recipe for BNB. I love the fact that the recipe yields 2 loaves, because my old recipe only makes one loaf. I'll definitely be making this again, except I'll use a smaller pan (the bread came out too rectangular, and I prefer mine more square). Other than that, it was perfect. Definitely a keeper!

Vegetable Soup II
My husband made this simple, delicious soup for me after my recent surgery! It was delish!!! I could only eat this for a few days, and even when I increased my diet, I still at your delicious veggie soup for a quick treat! yum...
