About this Cook
I grew up and went to college in North Dakota. Upon completing a degree in Nursing I moved to Rochester, MN to work at the Mayo Clinic as a Registered Nurse. I grew up in a house and family centered around cooking and food.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook new things and I love to alter recipes. Also, I love strange and very different foods and recipes along with cooking traditional comfort foods I grew up with.
My favorite family cooking traditions
French, Irish, Scandinavian. My Grandmother still makes the best lefsa around.
My cooking triumphs
I can make very creative, fun and tasty appetizers. One I my favorites will never be shared and is requested and loved by my husband's family.
My cooking tragedies
Rubbarb pie doesn't taste the same if you forget to add the sugar. Also, when babysitting my younger siblings when I was young and first starting cooking, directions on a package of mac and cheese should have said to drain the water.

Shrimp Creole I
This was excellent! I usually alter a recipe but I would not do anything to this one. The taste of the creole sauce is deceiving until the shrimp is cooked in. I served it over Uncle Ben's long grain wild rice which was a nice addition (my husband doesn't like white rice). Next time I think I am going to try a dirty rice.
