About this Cook
I love cooking and trying new recipes. I especially love those recipes that combine the most unusual combinations and find out how fantasic it is. Simple is good, but interesting is even better.
My favorite things to cook
Asian is easy for me. Italian would be the next. Comfort food is always fun. And I alway love cooking the filipino food I grew up with. Japanese is my new favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mini pecan tarts at Christmas. A big pot of filipino sour-soup (Sinigang)in the winter. BBQ-ing on Sundays. And nowadays my mom is just as excited to discover new dishes as me, we are always trying something new. We love preparing homemade shabu-shabu. Yum!
My cooking triumphs
Learned to overcome my chicken-phobia. Really...I never knew when it was "done". I always undercooked or overcooked it. Finding the "perfect" chocolate chip cookie recipe. I even gotten over my fear of working with yeast - thanks to the recipes on this site. I love baking now!

Seasoned Turkey Burgers
This is my go-to turkey burger recipe. If preparing in the kitchen (and not the grill outside), I would use an indoor grill to brown/grill mark the turkey patties. Place in a baking pan (covered in aluminum foil) and finish cooking in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes. You'll get the yummy grilled taste and moist cook-through turkey flavor. It's fail-proof.
