I love cooking new things and love when others love my food. My DH was a 'meat and potatoes' boy growing up so a lot of the things I cook seem strange to him, but he is a good sport about it and tries everything at least once! I'm a vegetarian and don't cook any type of meat. I do enjoy using meat substitutes to cook so I can use virtually any recipe. I especially like to bake cookies and pies. Snickerdoodles and peach pie are my favs. For dinner I like to cook anything with a lot of onions and garlic! The only traditions I have come from my mother. She would make something different for dinner every time she cooked. When I would ask her to make a recipe again, she either didn't have the recipe of couldn't remember what I was talking about :) Nothing really sticks out in my head particularly. Every new thing I make feels like a triumph. Scalloped potatoes- Mine are always dry and over cooked. They still taste ok, but man is the pan hard to clean! Cakes and icings are also a challenge for me.
