MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Very good brownies!! They were very easy to make and turned out better than i expected since they were so easy. I only had 1/2 cup choc. chips on hand, so i chopped up 3 sqaures of bitter sweet chocolate and they worked just fine. And yes! temper the eggs!!! I'm not big into brownies, but have since eaten 3! When i asked my husband if they were good, he said MMMMmm Hmmmm!

Spinach Bacon Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
This was my first attempt at ever making a quiche. I made it for my mommy friends coming over for a playdate. They LOVED it! As did i! Funny thing is that i dont even like spinach. I am a very picky eater, so i for sure didnt think i would like this but turns out im the one eating most of it. Even a 4 yr old from the playdate loved this. I did make a few minor changes: I used sausage links cut up instead of bacon(approx.8), i grated my onion and cooked it with the sausage, i cut the milk down to 1 1/2 cups only, i cooked my spinach in butter until hot, and i omitted the mustard completely and lastly, its good to know that this recipe makes-2- pies. It could easily make 1 deep dish though. Overall this was great! I will for sure be making this again! Thanks!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I made these last night. I followed the exact directions, except i made them in a regular sized cupcake pan. As i was making the second batch, looked at the back of the package of peanut butter cups and there was this recipe! They are called Peanut Butter Temptations!! Everything is exact(including some wordng) except for i think the flour measurements and the time, which the time on the bag works better. Overall they were really good and easy cookies, and i will be making them again!!

Yeast Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
WOW! These were delicious! The only thing i did different was that I used 1 package of yeast because that was all I had. Worked out fine. I used a laddle to measure the size of all the pancakes. I ended up having extra batter. Theres only 2 adults and 2 kids, so 5 pancakes and 1 baby one was enough. Maybe next time I'll cut the recipe in half. Thank you sooo much for the recipe. It's going in my recipe book, its a keeper!!

Blueberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
These really were great, but not the type of muffins i was looking for. It was more dense and almost bread like, instead of moist. My son is scarffing them down as i'm typing, as a matter of fact hes licking his plate. Like i said, they really were yummy, just not what i expected. I did have to add more milk because it just would of been way too thick. It made 12 muffins perfectly. Could of used a little more strusel topping but that was fine. Over all good!

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
As for this recipe i wasnt to fond of it. My husband and four year old did like it though. Maybe not creamy enough or not cheesy enough for me but it lacked something. Toward the end i put it in a baking dish with bread crumbs on top but it still didnt do anything for the flavor of it. Maybe i'd skip the evaporated milk and use real milk next time and maybe use a different cheese.

Meatloaf that Doesn't Crumble

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
Me and my husband absolutely loved this recipe! This was my second attempt at making meatloaf and it was a success!! I think the only thing i did different was that i grated the onion, bell pepper, and celery. I dont have a food processor, and i dont like to bite into the pieces of vegetables, so i grated them instead. I also used just ground beef, and i think i made more than 2 pounds because it didnt fit in my loaf pan. Luckily i had a larger aluminum one that it fit perfect in. I also had to increase cooking time because mine wasnt done in 1 1/2 hours. This recipe is definately a keeper!

Maple Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
This was an o.k. recipe. I needed a quick recipe since i planned on making pancakes and found i didnt have any mix. Very simple to make but a little more dense than i would of liked. A little syrup on them and they taste like every other pancake out there. Over all o.k., Thanks

Campfire Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
I think this was a good recipe, but they were a little bland. I tried them for the first time last night, and they were o.k. You do get the taste of the worstershire sauce and alot of the onion flavor but it really lacked salt or a little something extra. I think if i try this again i might just go with different seasonings, but stick with the chicken broth and maybe do half an onion. But if you are an onion lover for for a whole onion!
