About this Cook
I am a very busy person, but I am making a huge effort to slow my life!!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cookies, and more cookies!! Cakes, family meals, comfort foods, practically everything! I like to cook with alcohol. I am constantly looking for and trying new recipes. I incorporated my scrapbooking hobby into cooking by compiling my favorites into three scrapbooks (so far). I also like to go on searches for the best _____ (fill in the blank). I have found the best brownies, the best taco mix, among other recipes. I am currently searching for the best sour cream chocolate frosting recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies. I ask for days off work to bake and spend hundreds of dollars to make at least 30 varieties every year. Even so, I enjoy hosting an anual Christmas cookie exchange.
My cooking triumphs
There was this Spanish teacher that went to Mexico, so she thought she was familiar with Mexican cuisine. I told her about the enchiladas my class was going to have. She claimed, "I don't like American enchiladas." I gave her an enchilada I made from scratch and she came begging me for the recipe!!
My cooking tragedies
I accidentally start fires on my stovetop by turning on the wrong burners and tend to burn my cook books! I've started fires in and on the toaster. Probably my most triumphant momemt was burning the music book I put in the oven to dry! haha!! You should see my cookbooks!

Slow Cooker Ham
Almost any well-cured ham will turn out wonderfully in a crockpot without adding a thing. I feel there is way too much sugar in this recipe. I usually make split pea soup with the bone, but not from this ham.

Mangorita
Delicious. Would best be served after a light meal, almost as a dessert. If you like to drink a lot, don't drink this, it is too filling!
