About this Cook
I am a twenty-something woman who loves to prepare and eat food. I dont have a lot of time, or money, to cook as I am a full time student, but that's the great challenge!
My favorite things to cook
I love preparing seafood, lasagna, meatballs (just found a recipe on this site that I will keep forever), pasta etc. Right now, I'm trying out a great deal of mexican meals. Other than that, I appreciate potatoes for being so tasty and fun to experiment with.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As I grew up on an island I was brought up on lots of seafood. My mom is excellent in the kitchen, and she really mastered the science of cooking fish. I am trying to learn from her as best I can. Also, xmas food is absolutely sacred to me.
My cooking triumphs
I was very proud when I made my first cheesecake a while back. As I had never eaten one before, I did not know exactly how it should look or taste so I followed the recipe to a T. My boyfriend - a cheesecake expert - was really impressed with the result and it tasted sooo good so I was impressed too.
My cooking tragedies
I was cooking something and needed to add some pepper. Unfortunatley, the top fell off of the pepper shaker and I got all of it in my food. I was lucky though, because it was a thick sauce and I could fish most of the pepper out of the pot. Luckily the meal was rescued.

American Lasagna
A good lasagna for sure but a little dry. Thanks for the recipe though!

Grandma's Polish Perogies
These perogies were wonderful! My dough turned out great and easy to manage, and I pretty much followed the recipe exactly. For the filling we mixed potatoes with fried onion and bacon, parsley and about a cup of grated cheese. The result was truly splendid and well worth the effort!

Banana Sour Cream Bread
This was a very nice banana bread. The cooking time was a bit off for me though. It was sort of sticky in the middle when we cut it up. But apart from that, it was yummy!
