I'm a pediatrics resident at The Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO. I went to medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. I grew up in Reno, Nevada, and went to college at Pomona College in Claremont, CA (about forty miles from downtown LA).
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things! Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't, but I like to experiment. Of late, I've been trying to cook more healthily--cutting down on fats, limiting meat quantity and increasing veggies and fruits.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad was always the chef at home, and he taught me all kinds of random things. He liked gourmet cooking, although he's become very good at speedy gourmet, since he's pretty busy.
My cooking triumphs
A delicious five course meal for my wife on Valentine's Day this year:
Shrimp cocktail in crystal wine glasses
Clam chowder
Basil pan seared scallops over pasta
Homemade crab cakes
Flourless Kahlua chocolate cake
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to count. I'm lucky my wife puts up with me
