I am a 30-something year old guy who loves to cook everything from raw vegan breads to succulent lamb chops in mint sauce. I like to take the best flavors of all the lifestyles and diets out there and incorporate them into my own style. I wouldn't call it fusion - I would just call it me!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook roasts, legs of lamb, turkeys and game fowls. I always make my own gravies from the drippings. When I can incorporate a unique flavor into the meal AND when that flavor works - there is no better reward than hearing those enjoying it tell you so.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Easter Dinner is always at our house. I usually have 2 or 3 entrees going with numerous sides. I cook for an Army, but usually only feed a dozen or less. It's worth it though to hear my in-laws tell me how moist the turkey or roast is, or how delicious the sweet-potato pie is.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know about any triumphs per-se... I just love to cook. If it doesn't go well... se la vie... if it does go well... is that a triumph?
My cooking tragedies
Oh, we have all had them - no need to be shy here. Most recently I got into making manna breads... well they take a LOT of time to cook. I fell asleep waiting for the bread to finish. Well, I woke up two hours after they were done... luckily the bread cooks at an ultra-low 220 and instead of being a burnt mass of carbon, it turned out to have a bagel-chip consistency. Not that bad actually!
