About this Cook
I am working mother who loves to cook. I am always looking for new recipes.. cooking is my favorite hobby. I love to inspire joy through food.
My favorite things to cook
Gosh, there are so many. I guess I would say my favorite experiences are on the holidays. Where I pull out all the stops, nothing comes from a can, it's all fresh and all homemade. Like my grandmother taught me. Southern style, fattening and afterwords you need a long nap!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother and her two sisters really is where my cooking inspiration comes from. They did everything fresh, southern style, all homemade. Cooking to them was a way to show love. And boy, were we LOVED as kids!
My cooking triumphs
I would say my holiday meals. No one leaves unsatified. My holiday dinners are legendary.
My cooking tragedies
When I was dating my husband in college, I tried to make him spaghetti. I only owned one pot, and in it was the sauce, so I tried to boil noodles in a ceramic dish. Just so you know, that doesn't work. Water went everywhere when the dish exploded and we went out to eat. He married me anyway!

Raspberry Oat Bars
These are fantastic. I just froze a batch for a beach trip next week. These are buttery and wonderful. Use any jelly you want... I used smuckers "simply fruit". You could also add some crunched up toasted almonds to the batter too. YUM.

Sesame Seared Tuna
This was awesome.. didn't have the wine, and it didn't matter. I added some crushed red pepper to my marinade.

Cranberry Orange Bread
I liked this bread, the orange flavor was wonderful.. but I felt it was a little dry. I used more butter than called for, and I think I might use even more next time. I was a little crumbly. More butter would probably make it more moist. Or maybe even sour cream.
