About this Cook
I enjoy cooking, it's a simple way to relieve some of the stress that I have to deal with throughout the week.
My favorite things to cook
-Sezchuan, Satay, stir-fry dishes/ Breads/Pastries/Pies/Cookies/Cakes Basically anything sweet (as can be seen from my list above) or anything tasty... I suppose that means everything
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Malay style curry, rendang, laksa and all those great, spicy Malaysian dishes.
My cooking triumphs
My first time making, the ever popular, sweet and sour pork with my dad :) Making mother's day breakfast (of French Toast in the shapes of 2 'M's and 1 'O'. Making dinner for the family all by myself; consisting of quiche, tossed salad and scalloped potatoes.
My cooking tragedies
Attempting to make my own biscuits (from scratch) at the tender age of 10 and realizing that I had put too much flour, resulting in rock-hard biscuit stones :(

Caramel Shortbread Squares
These were delicious. But I must agree with the other comments, that the time specified is far from the actual time it takes to prepare this recipe. My pan was 7x7, so I ended up with some extra cookie, caramel and chocolate. I decided to use these to make individual tarts. I must say that these tarts actually turned out better than the bars (mainly because I didn't have to cut them). My sister especially loved the caramel, but I'm a sucker for the flaky shortbread.

Soft Pretzels
I was at first worried that the pretzels wouldn't turn out right; I have found it a bit tricky working with yeast in the past. But wow, this recipe was so easy and the taste was incredible. I will definetly be making these again... really soon!
