I am a student currently studying business and accounting. I love summer and all the fun of the outdoors. Food is definately a passion. I pretty recently started cooking regularly for my mom and boyfriend. He likes to brag to his friends that his girlfriend can cook. I keep saying if you can read a recipe from allrecipes you can cook (you might need practice but when a challaging meal turns out it's worth it!)
My favorite things to cook
I am learning more and more about spices and am very proud of my growing collection. I love the slow cooker, especially on school days, it is so nice to walk in the door and have dinner ready. I am a southern girl, I like to make chicken and dumplings, turnip greens and garden veggies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well the holidays are the best. You can overdo the dinner and make enough food for everyone on the block. I also love to impress my family with updated twist on old favs. BROCOLLI CASSEROLE is a must no matter the occasion ....I love it!
My cooking triumphs
Making fettucini alfredo sauce from scratch, and any meal that my mom wants the recipe for!
My cooking tragedies
I really liked making stuffed peppers when I was younger, so when my boyfriend said he would like me to make them I came hear for a good recipe. We both like spicy food so I was happy to find a stuffed banana pepper one. The problem happened at the store when the clerk told me that the poblano peppers were banana. After we began to cut them we noticed a problem, all the skin on our hands was burning!!!!! We finished stuffing and tried to eat them. They were way too hot and our hands were sore until the next day. :)
