About this Cook
I've always enjoyed cooking and now that my children are grown I enjoy using my extra time experimenting a little more in the kitchen, and working hard on broadening my cooking horizons. My two favorite cooking methods are grilling in warm weather and slow cooking in cold weather. I work full time outside the home,so most of my "fun" cooking is done on the weekends and holidays.
My favorite things to cook
I don't know that I have a favorite thing to cook. I really enjoy everything from baking, to grilling. The one thing I haven't tried yet is breads. I tried making the Clone of a Cinnabon from this site and didn't think it was very good at all, so obviously I didn't do something right, probably with the yeast. That's been my only attempt so far at a bread/yeast recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roast beef with potatoes and carrots was always a Sunday tradition growing up and I've carried that over with my family. Don't do it quite so much anymore, since the kids are grown and the golf course seems to call my name on Sundays, now :D
My cooking triumphs
I don't know about any particular triumphs, but my most requested recipes are my beef enchiladas, my baked beans and my pepper steak.
My cooking tragedies
The one that comes to mind is when I was making vegetable beef soup in the crock pot (one of our favorite meals). After chopping all the veggies the night before, I got up in the morning, threw everything in the crockpot, went to work and couldn't wait to go home to the yummy smell of soup, not to mention the satisfaction in knowing that dinner would already be done when I got home. Well, much to my dismay, I was not welcomed with the wonderful aroma of my soup, because I didn't turn my crockpot on! Needless to say, I was not a happy camper that day! I'm sure there are other cooking tragedies, but I try to block them out of my mind, so I can't think of any right now.

Garlic Bubble Ring
This was really good and really easy. I agree with other reviewers though, that the amount of butter needs to be reduced to maybe 1/2 cup. I had enough butter mixture left over to make another batch, and I even put extra on top. I used store brand frozen bread dough. I am definitely adding this to my favorites!

Muenster-Bacon Stuffed Chicken Breast
I made this recipe as stated and LOVED it! I did not think it was too cheesy, as we like cheesy at our house. Everyone agreed it was a keeper. I little messy and time consuming and calorie loaded, but still good enough to endulge in occasionally.
